We are very grateful for all who have shared our journey with this elite creature in our 20th year! 🦙💙💚 WOA’s commenced twenty years ago 😲 out of a small office in Palm Beach Qld. There were those who doubted if we would produce a magazine that would value add to the industry. Our thoughts are we have achieved in value adding to the industry, however it is the Owners and Breeders opinion we value and in your time please post your thoughts. 💬💭
I can remember asking for a photo for our very first front cover. Many came and this was the one chosen. With my limited knowledge of Alpaca’s at that time, it appeared to me it could have been taken in Peru, a small boy shoeless walking with his best friend. I soon learnt it was taken in Port Lincoln SA, of a very young seven year old Dylan and “Sandman”. Dylan is now twenty seven and sadly his “friend” has long gone, however the same road is there and he has a new friend. 😎🦙🥰🦙
I wanted to follow up Pendale Alpacas who sent this photo to us, so I called the mobile I had from twenty years ago, and I heard “hello, I haven’t heard from you in awhile” - it was Kerry his mum, she had the same mobile number and knew who was calling, after all this time - technology - how good is it? Thank you Kerry and Dylan for this great “then and now” moment – 20 years on. 📸🦙🙆♂️😍😀
Mick & Karen Williams initial involvement with Alpacas commenced in 2003 when their daughter was but 3 years of age – height wise, cria size. Rubey’s first childhood recollections are walking amongst alpacas in the paddocks and holding pens at Coolaroo when we were selecting our preliminary herd.

Hi to all, I have never been a "wordsmith” as such, in this time of trial and the test of our character I have allowed myself to pick up books well read by me in the past. I have walked the block and placed my foot in the water many times and still I do not believe it gives me the right to say “yes I know how you feel".
I cannot live in someones heartache or their mindset at that moment, however I can have empathy and "two ears to listen" and one mouth to say I love you and care for you .I do hope that we care for each other enough that once we move on through this "craziness" we still care.
“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved" Helen Keller.
